He started as Project Engineer in Ansaldo Energia (large EPC contractor in CCGT market) and the he moved to Axpo Italia (at the time EGL) to start from scratch their Italian power trading business. In 2005 he founded Elettrogreen (then sold to Engie – at the time Gaz de France) and in 2012 EGO Energy (now part of Shell Group). EGO Energy is among the strongest renewable energy traders in Italy, much expert in flexibility, aggregation and optimization services – it is also the pioneer in long-term PPA, BESS tolling-agreement and VPP Italian market. Stefano is also member of the Board of Directors of the main energy trade associations in Italy (Elettricità Futura and Italia Solare).

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Constantinos Sourkounis is a distinguished professor at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, where he leads the Institute for Power Systems Technology and Power Mechatronics. He earned his Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees from TU Clausthal, Germany, in 1989 and 1994, respectively, and received his habilitation in 2003 from the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering. Since 2017, Prof. Sourkounis has also headed the branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology in Bochum. His main research interests encompass mechatronic drives, renewable energy sources, decentralized energy systems, and energy supply systems for transportation, with over 370 publications and extensive collaborative research with industry partners. Prof. Sourkounis has served in numerous advisory and leadership roles, including as a member of various scientific boards, program juries, and national committees in the field of energy and mobility, as well as being active in advanced engineering education and currently chairing the Evaluation Commission for Teaching at his faculty.

A. W. Jayawardena is an adjunct professor in the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong. In the past, he has been a visiting professor at Chu Hai College of Higher Education in Hong Kong, a technical advisor to the Research and Development Centre of Nippon Koei Co. Ltd, Japan, and the Research and Training Advisor to the International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management, Japan, under the auspices of UNESCO. Martina Barrasso is a Mechanical Engineer specialized in energy efficiency for sustainable development. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial Engineering for Energy Processes at the University of Naples Federico II. Her research focuses on the development of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to minimize energy waste through non-invasive strategies. Her studies have been carried out within the EERA (European Energy Research Alliance) program on energy efficiency in the industrial sector. She emphasizes that innovative solutions often lie in the adopted strategy, where combining statistical methods and engineering approaches represents the first step toward reducing energy waste without structural modifications.

Dr. Anna Leo is a Ph.D. Candidate in Chemical Sciences at the University of Salerno, Italy, where her research focuses on the theoretical investigation of electron transfer phenomena, with particular emphasis on radiative and non-radiative processes in electro-optical devices. By applying advanced quantum mechanical approaches, she contributes to the design of high-performance optoelectronic materials for applications such as organic solar cells, LEDs, and sustainable energy-conversion technologies. She has published in leading journals including The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, Chemistry, and The Journal of Chemical Physics. Alongside her research, Dr. Leo is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring, supporting students in Chemical Physics and fostering inclusive learning environments.

Domenico Gallitelli is an energy engineer working at Huawei Technologies specialized in solar energy. He is involved in many projects including BEES, PV, energy grids and energy solutions for telecommunications carriers

Dr. Stuart So is a faculty member at the University of Exeter and the Programme Director for MSc Business Analytics. His research includes clean energy, sustainability, and climate change mitigation in the area of sustainable operations management (SOM), and sentiment analysis and sustainability modelling underpinned by AI/ML specialising in NLP and environmental analytics on the side of data science. Stuart received his doctorate from Macquarie University and completed his fellowship at the City University of Hong Kong. Stuart has published over 50 research articles in major peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He received two best paper awards and a research acknowledgement prizefrom the IEEE Conference, ANZAM Conference, and the University of Melbourne respectively. Stuart is an editorial board member of journals at MDPI, IGI-Globaland Emerald and guest edited a number of special issues in information management and environmental analytics for Emerald and MDPI. Professionally, Stuart is an ISO14001 EMS auditor, ISO22000 FSMS auditor, Certified Carbon Auditor (Energy Institute) and Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (SMIEEE). He contributes to practice as an environmental consultant and a data scientist.

Dr. Nivin Abdelmeguid is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, Egypt, specializing in energy and environmentaleconomics, sustainable development, and climate change. She holds a PhD in Euro-Mediterranean Studies with a focus on environmental and energy economics. Beyond academia, she consults for national and international institutions, including the Egyptian Ministry of Environment, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Egypt), and International Finance Corporation under the World Bank Group. She served as a Lead Author for Egypt’s 2024 Biennial Transparency Report under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, contributing to key chapters on institutional arrangements and tracking progress toward nationally determined contributions in the energy sector. Her research examines energy transitions, decarbonization, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and energy modeling, while also exploring the intersections of governance, policy design, and innovation with global sustainability frameworks, including circular economy practices and regenerative development strategies.
